Year two is where hockey markets get sloppy. A rookie season gives the book a small sample and a large amount of attention, and the second-year number ends up priced off the highlights rather than the ice time.
The thing that actually decides it is boring: minutes, linemates and power-play unit. A player can improve and still miss every number if the coach has not moved him up.
What to watch next
Read the deployment before the projection. First power-play unit and eighteen minutes a night is a different player from second unit and fifteen, and the market is slow to reprice that in October.
We hold no player projections or prop prices in the current feed, so there is no season points number on this site to argue with. What we can see is the game board for the four opening-week fixtures.

Bottom line
Judge year two on role, not on hype. If the ice time has not changed, the projection has not either, whatever the preview pieces say.
